When viewing the solution to a math problem on Symbolab, you can view all of the locked steps and verify your answers without buying a subscription by simply modifying the JavaScript variables:
I've found that symbolab is the best to use to see step by step without paying. They do have a subscription fee to go more in detail on the steps, but the free version is still way better than mathway where they just give you the answer and that's it.
A word of caution for anyone about to take the Calc 1 course on Sophia - take the time to learn the basics in the first 2 sections and try not to just use Symbolab or Mathway.
Alternative to WolframAlpha and Symbolab? The past months I have been using symbolab to help me out with steps I was unsure about. However, now Symbolab also requires payment to see the steps. As a student, I can't really justify spending money on a subscription to something like symbolab. Are there any other great alternatives?
Symbolab, half the battle is learning how to use all the options available. Sometimes typing in a word or partial formula, will give you samples and insight how to structure your inputs. I also used Wolfram alpha, various other calculators found via Google. Whenever I found a calculator that worked, I'd leave the tab open for future use.
Used Symbolab all 4 years. Totally worth it to pay the $15/year, but not necessary. I tried mathway but it's not as good. There is a modded mathway app on mobilism Reply reply shinamouri •
Just fyi, I just downloaded symbolab for android - you still have to pay to get the step by step solutions, which is kinda the important part of these apps imo...
